We are looking for a dedicated engineer to handle the system integration of a social bartender robot. This is a hands-on development role focused on deploying a robust system in the real world.
Core Responsibilities
- System Integration: Combine existing perception, manipulation, and social interaction modules into a cohesive, robust platform.
- Social Interaction: Implement and tune social behaviors (greeting, small talk, gaze aversion) to work reliably during beverage preparation. This includes using LLMs as conversational interfaces.
- Robustness: The system must run autonomously for extended periods. We are building a product-grade prototype, not a one-off research demo.
Requirements
- Engineering Focus: This is a development-focused role where the priority is building a dependable, real-world system. We are looking for someone who enjoys the process of making complex robotics software work seamlessly and reliably.
- Deployment Experience: Proven experience deploying robots in public spaces or unstructured environments.
- Technical Stack:
- Middleware: Expert-level ROS 2 (Humble/Jazzy).
- AI/ML: Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) for social interaction.
- Languages: Advanced C++ and Python.
- Hardware: Experience with real-time control, sensor integration, and debugging physical hardware.
To Apply: Please email your CV and a brief summary of your relevant deployment experience to Alessandro Roncone with the subject [Bartender Robot Application] before Friday, February 6th 2026 EOB.
